Rules

In a Gavel Club Meeting, there are some important rules and etiquettes that should be followed:

Be always on time for the meeting.

Its forbidden to talk about three topics in a meeting: Religion, Sex and Politics.

Invite friends as guests with the permission of the Club Counselor

Mobile phones and any handheld electronic devices, should be put on silent mode or switched off.

Be attentive when the speech is in progress and avoid any distractions.

Use of vernacular languages is not encouraged since these are formal meetings conducted in English language.

Always show courtesy and respect to all members. Applaud for every member who stands to speak for any reason and again when they finish speaking.
Online Meeting Etiquette Everyone should know

Have a mic test beforehand

Have headphones or earphones

For the speakers giving presentations they should definitely login on their laptops and focus on the presentation while speaking.

Sit on a comfortable chair. Avoid moving around

Enter your full name when attending a meeting.

Dress appropriately
-
Prefix your name with the initials of the role you have taken up in the meeting, if any
-
Keep the microphone on Mute and Video On through out the meeting, unless you are required to speak

The timer should indicate the time by changing the background color to green, amber or red, as applicable.

The timer should also have the color cards to display, in case the color background fails.

Don’t interrupt others. Ask by Raise Hand, or using Chat options

Don’t use your phone
-
Always be prepared.

Discuss personal things during the break or after the meeting

Avoid sharing the meeting information with others.
